WI FUNDING BOOST WI FUNDING BOOST

We were chosen by Saddleworth Women’s Institute as one of their charities to support in 2017 and have now received a cheque for £1,500 thanks to their fundraising.
The money was raised at a Fashion Show, Mad Hatters Ball, Christmas Market as well as a special ‘Jam and Jerusalem’ calendar featuring some of Rangers’ very own past and present players – without their kits on!
Freddie Wilson, son of club chairman Shane, and Karen Thompson, club treasurer, collected the cheque at the WI’s meeting at The Royal George in Greenfield (pictured below centre).
Karen said: “Rangers is a great family club and gives a great grounding for children. We enable boys like Freddie to play rugby from a young age which is a great thing.
“This money will help ensure the children get the facilities they need so thank you very much.”
Two other charities - Home-start and Osca (Oldham Support Group For Carers In Autism) - also both received £1,500.
