WE'RE GOING UP! WE'RE GOING UP!

The first team is celebrating promotion for the first time in nearly a decade after beating Wigan St Jude’s in the play-off final to return to National Conference Division One.
A memorable 33-16 victory was secured with two tries each for Gavin Dodd and Adam Jeffrey, plus one from Andy Joy and Danny Bowker. Josh Bradbury kicked four goals with a drop goal from Chris Hough.
Coach Wes Rogers said: “I knew after the first game when I’d taken over that we could turn it around and the goal was the play-offs.
"I knew if we got there we could get promoted it and we made it.
"We coasted at times on Saturday and did some daft things but in big games lads get nervous.
"It was a great day for Oldham with supporters from St Anne’s, Waterhead and Mayfield watching the lads along with our rowdy bunch.
"Jockey (chairman Shane Wilson) came into the changing rooms before kick-off and said a few words and it was quite emotional in there. We’re really pleased with how it’s gone.”

Shane said: “A lot of hard work has resulted in a great end of season for us. What a remarkable turnaround.
"Great work from the team but also the people who are supporting them, the coaching staff, the committee.
"The club has got a feel good factor again at the moment, from watching 60 young kids in the tots on Mondays to what happened in the final.
“We’re so proud of them. We had a good sing in the changing rooms afterwards and it really felt just right.”
The team and supporters went back to the Rangers clubhouse afterwards and enjoyed the rest of their night.
Roll on next year and Division One rugby!
