Saddleworth First Team & Under 18's 2015

TROPHIES WERE presented to Saddleworth Rangers' players for commitment and achievement during the 2015 season.

At the open age awards ceremony, Liam Hall was named coaches’ player of the year while Dale Lowe was player of the year.

Tom Dransfield was picked as players’ player of the year and Ethan Langhorn was named clubman of the year.

For the under-18s, players' player of the year was Reece Simpson, coaches player of the year Adam Leonard while most improved player was Sam Hart.

Players, coaches and their families and friends gathered at Rangers’ clubhouse on Shaw Hall Bank Road, Greenfield as the awards were handed out.

Club chairman Shane Wilson said: "The season probably didn’t go quite as we expected with all the disruptions and not being able to field the same team week to week. "That said, I’m proud of all who pulled a jersey on this season, myself included. We are a great club with great traditions and the resolve the lads showed has to be applauded.

"Off the field I would like to thank everybody at the club for their hard work, from media and fundraising to all the day-to-day things that give us a fantastic place to play our sport.

"Also I can now announce that at the end of the 2016 season the old clubhouse will be demolished to make way for our new home, to be built by the start of the 2017 season."

Around £15,000 has been raised for the new clubhouse after Rangers players completed a mammoth sponsored touch rugby league game in August – playing for 30 hours, 30 minutes and 30 seconds to set a new world record.
