Family fun at 'Party on the Pitch' fundraiser
THERE WILL be fun for all the family at a unique ‘Party on the Pitch’ hosted by Saddleworth Rangers this month.
On Saturday, May 28, the club will throw open their doors – and pitch – at Shaw Hall Bank Road, Greenfield, to welcome all ages for an afternoon of activities and entertainment.
Starting at 3pm, there will be live music until 9pm including Pete Starkey, Morgan, Andy Lee, Rhapsody, Katie Koo and Kylie Minogue tribute Natalie McGrath.
There will also be a host of stalls and children’s rides, as well as food and drinks on sale.
The event is a fundraiser for the rugby club’s new clubhouse – hopefully due to be ready for the 2017 season – as well as the Under 14s annual trip to play in France.
Karen Thompson, one of the event organisers and club treasurer, said: “We’re really excited to host this event for the first time, with fun for the whole family.
“Please come down to enjoy a great afternoon out, as well as help us to raise some money to build the new clubhouse and to support our U14s.”
A target of £250,000 has been set for the new clubhouse, with more than £170,000 raised already thanks to generous donations and fundraising events.
Wristbands for the event cost £7.50 for adults or £3.50 for children (Under 3s free) or £20 for a family of four. They are available in advance from the clubhouse or call 01457 876077 or buy on the day.
