The first team season came to a close last month with defeats to Woolston away and then Mayfield in the final home game.
There have been highlights including wins over Waterhead away and Oldham St Anne’s at home but overall it’s been a tough first season for new coaches Sean Whitehead and Paul Ashton due to the disruption of the pandemic and a league featuring teams from higher divisions.
With some senior players also having stepped back, the pair say they’ve used it as an opportunity to blood some up and coming youngsters.
Sean said: “We have some good U18s coming through and I think they will make the cut for the first team next year.
"We were an ageing squad and, while we will still have experienced players, we will predominantly be a young side.
“We’ve had a good look at the lads, and we have some good young kids and I am optimistic going forward.”
